I’m an experienced analyst and leader on issues of conflict and insecurity, and am passionate about helping the world be safe as it navigates the climate crisis. I’m Deputy Director of the Center for Climate and Security, where I lead research, analysis, and education projects on the implications of climate change and the energy transition for human, national, and global security. I previously spent a decade in the US intelligence community analyzing climate and environmental security, terrorist threats, and political instability during the Arab Spring, and am an Arabic speaker with deep Middle East expertise.
